The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry game that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for embracing chaos and madness with the same excitement, all while weaving engaging, politically driven tales. No wonder then that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two creators whose work have represented all of those things.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game property, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' structure by having a different setting and group of personalities in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team always encourages me with their constant belief and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology show. Every instalment is a take of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the nature of society through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to partner with Rob and present our shared irreverent, daring style to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
